Our History

The White County Historical Society was chartered on May 3, 1965, in order to save the Old White County Courthouse from being demolished. Since that time, we have been responsible for the restoration, maintenance, and upkeep of this historic landmark. It is now the home of our Museum and Gift Shop.

Your membership, donations, and purchases allow us to continue the promotion of the rich heritage of White County through the ongoing preservation of our Courthouse Museum.
